I came across Our Day and its founder, Bryn Khoury, at the perfect time as I just began planning my wedding with my fiancé. I quickly realized I was in for a very long journey—or so I thought. Could you tell us a bit about yourself and your wedding platform, Our Day?

I spent the first ten years of my career working in investment banking operations. While planning my wedding and simultaneously working on a platform to compare outside counsel costs at the bank, I realized that an RFP tool didn’t exist for wedding vendors. Recognizing this gap, I quit my banking job, and Our Day was born!

Our Day is a self-service platform made for couples to match with their perfect wedding vendors through a request-for-proposal process.

The couple starts their journey by filling out our simple form. They tell us their wedding date, location, budget, preferred services, and unique visions for their big day. Our Day then sends their request to local vendors that match their criteria so they can compare and accept/decline.

2.4 million couples will spend approximately 20 hours sourcing wedding vendors each year—Our Day cuts that time in half, allowing couples to enjoy their engagement!

Since its launch, Our Day has quickly grown, and you have plans to further expand across the southeastern United States this year. However, you chose Charlotte as the very first location when you launched Our Day. Can you explain why you made this decision?

Our Day will continue to expand across the Southeast and beyond, starting with Nashville, Charlottesville, Savannah, and Washington, D.C., by October 1. Austin and Dallas, TX, will follow shortly after. See the interactive map here.

I was born and raised in North Carolina, and Charlotte seemed like the perfect city to launch Our Day. With its thriving industry, strategic location, and size, we knew Charlotte would be an ideal market for our platform, particularly for busy working couples. Although we have since expanded, Charlotte remains our best-performing city, demonstrating the strong demand and appreciation for Our Day's services.

As someone in the early stages of planning their own wedding, I'm already experiencing how stressful planning one's big day can be. What would you say separates Our Day from similar tools and websites within the wedding industry? What features or services does Our Day offer that you believe are unique or particularly beneficial for couples?

Our key differentiating factor is the request-for-proposal (RFP) process. You fill out a simple form with your vision, and the vendors come to YOU with proposals if they fit your date, budget, and location. No more sifting through a laundry list of vendors and reaching out individually for quotes.

What do you enjoy most about running Our Day and helping couples plan their special day? Can you share any success stories or testimonials from couples who have used Our Day for their weddings?

We take pride in being a self-service tool that helps couples save time and find the best value partners for their special day. Additionally, we are proud of our positive impact on local small businesses by serving as a cost-effective marketing tool. Through the Our Day RFP process, vendors gain visibility into leads they might not otherwise encounter. Our platform is affordable for vendors and completely free for couples, making it a win-win for everyone involved.

According to your website, Our Day is a family-owned business that you operate with your two sisters. Can you tell us a bit about what that experience is like and how they've helped you bring your vision to life?

My sisters were instrumental in transforming Our Day from a mere idea on a napkin to a successful launch. They have always been a supportive presence and continue to help. While they are not involved in the daily operations, their initial guidance was invaluable. Recently, I brought on a managing partner and COO, Marie Davis, who has been crucial in handling the day-to-day operations and shaping our growth strategy.
