Welcome to another enthralling installment of Front Row Seat, where we celebrate the unique spirits enhancing the regal allure of the Queen City. In this edition, we'll be chatting with the belle of the ball for most of the fabulous parties thrown in Charlotte, and that is Lindsey Ferguson.

Now, when you hear the phrase 'belle of the ball,' you initially think of the woman at the party that all eyes are on. However, I use the term to describe Lindsey Ferguson because, although she's typically behind the scenes, most of the events that I cover on this blog wouldn't happen without her expertise as one of the top event planners in Charlotte. So dive into our quick chat below, and be sure to consider L. Ferguson Events for your next party planning needs—or at least remember the name Lindsey Ferguson the next time you attend one of the many events in this city that she has planned

Could you share a bit about yourself and how you ventured into event planning?

I planned events for many years in the corporate world as a Product and Brand Manager. After starting a family and having our daughters only 14 months apart, I decided to stay home for a while to try and regain my sanity. My plan was to go back to work when my youngest started Kindergarten. I thought it would be the perfect time to take a risk and start a business (a lifelong career goal), focusing on what I liked most about my previous roles.

What kinds of events do you specialize in, and how do you keep yourself in the loop with the latest trends and ideas in event planning?

I specialize in corporate, social, and non-profit events. I stay in the loop with industry trends by following the work of other event designers in major markets of the United States and abroad. I also follow the work of interior designers, tastemakers, and other creatives in related fields. Inspiration is everywhere you look, and I love experimenting with new ideas I get from the most unlikely places.

L. Ferguson Events has swiftly risen to prominence since its launch in 2020, quickly establishing you as one of the city's premier party planners! What do you think has been key to your success?

Gosh, that is such a compliment. I think the key to my success has been the amazing clients I’ve worked with. They have been so supportive and encouraging of my business, and many of them have been repeat customers from business events to their own private social gatherings.

You've orchestrated numerous parties, galas, and events since the inception of L. Ferguson Events. Can you highlight your top three events thus far?

This is so hard! But I’d have to say: a yearly client entertainment event at The Masters for a financial firm, the annual St. Jude Celebrity Chef and Wine dinner, and milestone birthday parties for adults (wouldn’t dare pick one.. they are all so fun and different!)

What, in your view, are the key ingredients for a thriving party or event? Additionally, could you offer some advice to our readers who might be organizing their own gatherings at home?

The most important component of a party is the flow. To get this right, I always start with the layout. From there, you can build in all the other ingredients: entertainment, decor, food, and beverages, etc.

For those eager to enlist the expertise of L. Ferguson Events for their upcoming event, what's the best way for them to reach out and kickstart the booking process?

Simply reach out. From there, we can schedule a time to talk about your vision and determine a plan.
